Five years ago, Charlotte County Public Schools embraced the FISH! philosophy of customer service.  Service principles such as:  choosing our attitudes, making the day of others, playing and having fun in the workplace, and being there in the moment are all examples of behaviors CCPS employees have committed to modeling and practicing every day.  Each year, we dedicate to one of the four specific FISH! principles, and we recognize and celebrate examples of this particular principle in our schools and departments.  School Year 08/09 is dedicated to the principle of “BEING THERE” for each other, our students and families as well as our entire Charlotte County community.

As a caring and supportive team of professionals, we take time on a regular basis to draw attention to our colleagues and students who have truly exemplified the year’s FISH! principle.  Employees throughout the organization who see examples of the “Be There” principle send an email to the superintendent who in turn, sends a FISH! recognition to the employee who modeled the FISH! behavior.  Mrs. Hackney receives an average of 8-10 recognition emails per week!  Each employee honored has their name placed on a FISH! bulletin board in the central office.

The following are recent examples of the FISH! principle of “BEING THERE” submitted for recognition:
