The Virginia accreditation process and the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) have increased emphasis on student performance as indicated by test results on the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs). Each school division in Virginia must reach certain percentages on test scores to be fully accredited (Virginia Accreditation) and meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under NCLB. The Charlotte County Public School Division is proud of its performance. Thanks to the cooperative and dedicated effort of our School Board, teachers and employees, parents, business and community leaders, Board of Supervisors, and, most of all, our students, all schools are fully accredited.
Good test scores reflect a quality academic program and also assist in identifying student strengths and weaknesses. Examination of this data allows for ongoing adjustments in instructional programs to improve student learning and performance. The division is dedicated to this process in its mission “to cultivate ‘21st century-ready’ students, faculty, and staff with a passion for life-long learning.”
